Allison Jr. is Princeton Theological Seminary\u2019s Richard J. Dearborn Professor of New Testament. He obtained his M.A. and his Ph.D. from Duke University. His academic research has focused on the Gospel of Matthew, the historical Jesus, the Sayings Gospel (Q), early Jewish and Christian eschatology, inner-biblical exegesis, the history of the interpretation and application of biblical texts, and the Jewish Pseudepigrapha, especially the Testament of Abraham and 4 Baruch. His book, <\/em>Constructing Jesus<em>, was selected as \u201cBest Book Relating to the New Testament\u201d for 2009\u20132010 by the Biblical Archaeology Society. He is currently the main editor for the New Testament area for DeGruyter\u2019s <\/em>Encyclopedia of the Bible and Its Reception<em>, and has served on the editorial boards of <\/em>New Testament Studies, Journal for the Study of the Historical Jesus,\u00a0Journal for the Study of the New Testament, Horizons in Biblical Theology, Journal of Biblical Literature<em>, and\u00a0<\/em>Review of Biblical Literature<em>. On a more popular level, he has written books on the Sermon on the Mount, George Harrison, and religious experience in the modern world.
